Diablo III Confirmed For Consoles

It has been confirmed that Diablo III will be coming to consoles, though to which consoles is unknown.

Micah Whiple, Blizzard’s Community Manager, confirmed the news over Twitter after being asked if Diablo III would make the console jump.

“Yup. Josh Mosqueira is lead designer for the Diablo console project.”

A solid release date is yet to be announced for Diablo III, with Spring 2012 being the only date mentioned. Yesterday Blizzard denied that Diablo III was going to release early February.

  1. I don’t mind which consoles. I can take my pick. PS3 would be better because then there is at least a chance that console users and PC users can play together (FF XI and Portal 2 being the only other examples of this I can think of).

I strongly believe this is the way online gaming should go. Microsoft seems to think differently though. I have faith in Gabe, who has shown us the way!

  2. Oh please be cross plattform gameplay!!!! If Valve an do it Blizzard can do it!!

  3. I hope it doesn’t have issues on PS3…

Ultimatly… will be as good as Sacred 2?

  4. Colour me a happy chappy. Now it just needs mouse and keyboard support for the (hopefully) PS3 version and we’ll have ourselves a winner.

    • You actually want to use a mouse for D3? Keyboard is understandable, but one of the reasons I don’t want it for PC is because of all the mouse clicking.. Ugh!

  5. A PS3 version would be nice=)
    *fingers crossed*

  6. Would be great to see this on PS3.

  7. if they get rid of that stupid always online thing then i would consider buying it.
but if i lose the ability to play whenever i lose my net connection, well then, no way in hell.

of course they’d have to adapt it so you get direct control of your character instead of it being point and click like it is on pc.
at least i think that’s how it plays on pc.

  8. funnily enough, even as a PC purist i like this news, gives me a chance to play it offline :)
