Fresh off yesterdays reveal, UK mobile carriers have been screaming left, right, and centre regarding the availability of the Xperia Play on their networks.
O2 were the first to break cover, saying “awesome news, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is coming to O2”, whilst Pocket Lint are reporting that Orange, T-Mobile, and Vodafone have also confirmed they will be stocking the device.
In addition, Orange and T-Mobile are listing an April launch date. The official reveal is due on February 13th, so we don’t have long to wait to find out more.

I’m tempted by this. My contract is due for renewal around that time. Hmmmmmmm. I’ll wait and see the specs compared to a HTC Desire.

Well, I’ve only just resigned a new contract, and to be honest I’m kinda glad. My experince of Sony Eriscsson phones has been pretty poor and I’m just not sure how good this is going to be. By the time my contract’s up, I’m sure there will be an improved version on the market, and for now I’m more than happy with my Desire HD.

Same here fella, my last 4 mobiles have been sony ericsson phones. While they are great to start, the problems soon arrive. I’m moving away from SE this time. Gonna go for an Iphone or a HTC.

I’ll be getting an I-Phone on my next contract, not because I chose that for my portable gaming preferences but because it will ouble as a n I-pod which I have constantly glued to my ears. I don’t like the whole bursts of gameing thing, I think of portable devises as something to enhance a long-ish journey, so I expect more than that the PSphone offers but will proabably get the NGP.

See this is where Sony havent been very clear, the ‘Xperia Play’ is far from a gaming console, its just a phone that has a portable gamepad with just the Playstation Suite built in as an app.
I think people will get confused.

Desire HD sucks. No AMOLED screen, tinny speaker and no multi coloured led like original Desire.
Hmm it looks tempting but i think I’ll see what Galaxy S2 has to offer and see if the xperia play is using a better gpu than my Galaxy S.

wicked.. i was under the impression about a month back that Orange got the exclusive.. just moved to Vodafone 18 months back, but if i stay with the same network i can upgrade my contract in May… i know what im getting now!!
