Dynasty Warriors 7 Tops Japanese Charts

Despite last week’s devastating earthquake, games still seem to be selling well in Japan. Topping the sales charts between March 7th – 13th, Tecmo KOEI’s Dynasty Warriors 7 (known in Japan as Shin Sangoku Musou 6) raked in an impressive 253,090 sales on the PlayStation 3, knocking Dissidia 012 into second place.

These first-week statistics for KOEI’s popular hack n’ slash have also trumped the combined efforts of all 3DS games in the top 20 this week, including Nintendogs and Professor Layton.

Dynasty Warriors 7 launches in the UK on April 1st. Be sure to keep an eye out for our full review in the coming weeks.

  2. DW always sell bucket loads in Japan. Good to see it continue. I’m looking forward to seeing what they have done with the latest iteration.

  3. this is surprising, they still are buying games during times of crisis.i guess it is understandable,it is a way to forget about the troubles in ones life.
