So the purpose of the Valve ARG was revealed on Friday – play certain indie games and Portal 2 will be released early. We wonder though, has that been an elaborate red herring to draw people’s eye away from something else?
Valve has apparently sent the ValveARG site an encrypted file which read as follows:
—LOG FROM [ REDACTED ], BY J.H. TO C.J.—
1. We designed the entire thing to be very, very durable. It was easy to get the materials since everyone’s been thinking
it’s a simple icebreaker ship. Ha.2. We have made sure to strip it of anything not necessary, so that we have plenty of space for it. It doesn’t have any
backup supplies in the event the crew runs out of food, though. And there isn’t much food onboard in the first place.3. In the event you need to send it off all of a sudden, use the OR box with code ‘hb1′.
That’s all, C.J. Not much else I can tell you other than this won’t leave a blight on our record. Mesa is going to be sore
when they see what we’ve done.
The icebreaker ship sounds like the one in Half-Life 2: Episode 2, and presumably ‘C.J.’ is Aperture’s Cave Johnson. Oh Valve, stop your damn teasing!

I don’t want to spoil anything, but that might not just relate to Half Life 3… ;-)

Dammit Valve, haven’t you take enough money from me already?
Oh don’t bother answering. I don’t even like Half Life and I’m excited.

I hate you Vavle and you know it! and dammit you keep my wanting more and more. I swear when half life is coming the gaming world will go utterly mental. they are going to have a hell of a lot of hype to live up to

A-hem… Can I just say, if Portal 2 does indeed tie in with HL/Episode 3, then I called it… :D

I am seriously in love with Valve at the moment after all the hassle in the past they are more than making up for it.
