SSX Dated for February

EA has announced that the latest game in the SSX franchise will be hitting stores on February 14th in the US. We would expect to see it here on February 17th.

The game impressed TSA members of staff at the Eurogamer Expo 2011, so we have high hopes.

  1. I will be keeping an eye on this, certainly looks good. Last snowboard game I had was Shaun White and I really enjoyed that despite it’s flaws.

    • How did Shaun White handle? I really didn’t like Amp because of the way it felt when you turned compared with how SSX felt. Very excited about the new SSX! Bring on DJ Atomica haha.

      • It was really fun, smooth and easy to control, and just really easy to pick up and play. Camera angle is well placed too which is a plus. Bit of a dodgy frame rate though. Worth a go if you see it for a fiver ;)

      • Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll keep an eye out!

  2. Have to say that i played SSX at EGX & was not impressed. It just didn’t have the feel that i was looking for from an SSX title.

Generic ski slopes, strange camera angles, moves no longer on shoulder buttons etc etc.

I just want Tricky HD. Is that too much to ask???

    • MOVES NO LONGER ON SHOULDER BUTTONS!? WHAT!?!? Tricky was sooo good, I’d love that to be released again..

      • Yup, that was exactly my reaction when i soared off a cliff &… Nothing. I then realised that moves were in fact on the face buttons & a little bit of me died inside.

SSX Tricky still remains the pinnacle of the series as far as i am concerned. Me & my mate had endless hours of fun with that.

      • :( It’s actually just gone way down on my list.. Tricky was the thief of many of my hours too. So, so good

  3. It’s NOT tricky, and there’s the rub.
I repeat myself, but the truth is; If it’s not even half as immediate and arcadey as Tricky, I won’t bother.

    • It isn’t as far as i could see. I found it quite difficult to get to grips with, whereas Tricky just ‘clicked’ for me.

      Shame.

      • I think you guys need to accept that its not SSX Tricky because it’s not and isn’t trying to be. I’m also sure that your memories and past nostalgia play a big part in how good it was.
The fact that one of your main issues is that tricks aren’t on the shoulder buttons to me is a relatively small downer that if you can’t/won’t adapt to is a little disappointing.

I love what they’re trying to do with the game and can’t wait to get my hands on it. (although if not having at least one mountain which takes

Wait for the actual game, you might actually like it despite your preconceptions.

      • (blah stupid phone – can we get a bit more space between the bottom of the box and submit button please?)

  4. i hope its as good as ssx1 + 3 :p

  5. looking forward to this, hope its not a let down
