Woo! Olympics! Something like that, anyway. That was a pretty good show last night, though, right? I wasn’t really expecting much, but Danny Boyle did us proud.
So anyway, it’s time for the weekly Round-Up!

This week saw the final instalment of the DiRT Showdown tournament, with TomHLord facing off against MadJunkBoy in the grand finale. It was a pretty close call in the end, too! As always, Death_in_Flamez has slaved over a lengthy commentary and video, so be sure to tune in to see just who managed to win.
He’s swiftly onto his next project, a six week run about in MotorStorm: Apocalypse, which you can read all about and grab one of the last few spots here.
We also had a quick NASCAR The Game: 2011 giveaway with Hannes_Truce, Rept0n, VirusPT, FRUIT0FDOOM, element666, and OnlineAssassin77 the lucky six drawn out of the hat. I hope they’re all enjoying their winnings!

A good haul of meets have already been set up this week, starting off tonight with Uncharted 3 at 7PM and continuing on through Sunday with the regular DiRT Showdown meet at 6PM.
Starting off the week proper is Max Payne 3 at 9PM, with DiRT Showdown coming back alongside an Uncharted 2 meet (Yes, TWO) both at 8PM on Tuesday.
Finally (so far), we have the “Whatever’s on Beta” meet featuring LittleBigPlanet Karting on Wednesday night, before Thursday sees the Battlefield 3 DLC meet at 7PM.
Of course, a few other things might crop up, such as Gran Turismo 5 or the regular Friday Battlefield 3 meet, so keep an eye out, or create your own! You just need 250 TSA points to be able to do so.

Kicking off the reviews this week, we had an extensive video review of the Google Nexus 7 tablet for you all to feast your eyes on, courtesy of Peter. They can’t top the madness of moving pictures and sound stuffs, but Alex says that we all need to play Thomas Was Alone, whilst Jim took a look at the multiplayer side of things in Spec Ops: The Line.
There were a few previews to go alongside these, though, starting with PES 2013 getting a look over from Peter. Oh, and I went to play Darksiders 2 for a few hours, and did my best to cram everything about the game into 1000 words. I ran a little bit long, but I hope you got the drift. Jim’s also continued his series of features called the Hall of Heroes, based around Mythic’s free MOBA Wrath of heroes, starting off with a look at Aessa Goldmane.
Next up a few opinions get an outing, with Toby saying that the way Irrational want to hire based off previous Metacritic scores is wrong. Kris also wonders if we really need hardware updates, whilst Alex ponders about just which studio could be developing the PS Vita Call of Duty title…
Heading to the regular community posts, we had another Chronicle, with a rather astounding gaming rig belonging to Motalla. WeView saw the judgement arrive for DiRT Showdown, with Ghost Recon Future Soldier now in the hot seat. Finally, What We Played and the TSA Podcast get their weekly outings.

Quite an… active few days in the forums this week. So what stands out for me?
- Bunimomike asked for some co-op title recommendations.
- CC_Star fancied chatting about the ending to The Dark Knight Rises… So uh… SPOILERS!
- Berzerka’s not had too wonderful a time at his new place of residence, sadly.
- Peter rightly recognises that we love to vote in polls! So he’s added that stuff to the forums for us! Also, this topic is wildly off-topic!
- No list from this week would be complete without the thread that kicked up such a fuss. We’re sorry, new guy…
So yeah, a bit nuts this time around!

Last week Batman utterly kicked Cole McGrath’s electric butt into a pond, 10-2. So, with the Olympics in mind, I’d decided to set Batman against Sonic the Hedgehog, a well known olympiad. What do you mean Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games isn’t factual?
Batman
Pros
- Kicks butt in a brawl.
- The world’s greatest detective.
- Shark-repellant Spray and other gadgets.
Cons
- Just a normal man.
- Never gets any time off.
- Doing that growly voice all the time must really hurt.
Sonic the Hedgehog
Pros
- He’s a little bit quick.
- He’s a little bit prickly.
- He’s a little bit blue.
Cons
- Doesn’t work so well in the third dimension.
- As soon as he got a voice he got really annoying. Better to stick with the Japanese voice acting.
- Like all hedgehogs, he really shouldn’t eat bread and milk. Better to stick with the cat food, him and Tails both!
So, what do you think? Batman might have good reflexes, but is he quick enough to handle Sonic?
Origami Killer
Those last two threads mentioned in the forums section went a bit mad!
Batman gets my vote.
KeRaSh
Although I’m going to watch The Dark Knight Rises today, my vote still goes out to Sonic.

Got Uncharted 2 about a week ago, would like to join the meet this week. Want to finish the SP and then play a bit of MP. Is it still active? Or does everyone play U3 MP now?
theberzerka
Hmmm tough one this week. Think I’ll say batman as sonic only really has one attack method. Jump and spin.
Nate
I vote Batman, if he has a contingency plan to take out The Flash then he can handle Sonic.
MadJunkBoy
Batman gets my vote! no competition really!
love the round up!
and if u havn’t watched the final between me and Tom, please do=) captain have putted alot of time and love into these vids and they are awesome! =D
aerobes
Sonic.
Quite how he’s lived through several franchise-killing games is beyond me so there’s no way he’s going to be stopped by a playboy with a fancy belt.
hazelam
ooh, tough one.
i doubt Batman’s ever a faced an anthropomorphised blue hedgehog that can run really fast before.
how do you prepare to deal with something like that.
maybe he could adapt some of the strategies he no doubt has for dealing with the Flash.
no doubt he has strategies for taking down any other member of the Justice League should the need arise.
so i gotta go with batman once again, but by a closer margin.
i didn’t know those tourney videos had commentary, makes a world of difference.
i’ll have to keep an eye out for them in future as that one was very entertaining.
Crazy_Del
Thought I’d like to throw this in.
Looking for one more player on Ridge Racer: Unbounded – and to see if there is still interest as it has been very quiet in the past few days.
Many thanks
Batman beats the crap out of hedgehog =P
Sympozium
Getting sick of Batman being mentioned all the time, so Sonic destroys him with a spin-dash.
