PlayStation All Stars Allows Arcade Sticks

Okay, I know it’s not surprising that you can use a game controller to, er… control a game. But it is interesting that SuperBot Entertainment, the developers of PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale, are taking the time to make special mention of it.

The developers issued a statement on their Facebook page last night to point out that their upcoming multi-combatant brawler would fully support the use of fight sticks, mapping the DualShock’s right-stick throw function to a button combo on arcade stick controllers.

I think this further reaffirms the game’s apparent focus on delivering a mature fighting experience. Written off by many as a simple Smash Bros clone, All Stars is actually looking to be a much more tuned, complex fighter – in spite of its fun approach.

I guess we’ll know a little more closer to the launch at the end of October.

  1. Haven’t used a fight stick in 20 years! Much prefer the a pad myself. But do they offer any advantages? Is it the same kind of difference between a pad vs wheel for racers? If so I may have to invest and give it a whirl – there are some nicely designed arcade sticks out there indeed.

  2. That’s pretty awesome . I’ve never considered using arcade sticks for the fighting games I currently own simply because they’re used by more advanced players. No doubt All-Stars still has plenty of depth, though the more casual appeal has me interested in buying a stick now.

  3. Do u think they will make one for the vita, you just connect it like you would on ps3 & alakazam!

    • I hope not. That stuff kinda annoys me tbh.
