The Japanese site for Forza 6 went live briefly over the weekend before being quickly closed down, but as ever the internet was quick to grab the details.

Forza 6 Information Leaks, Will Have The Most Cars Of “Any Racing Game This Generation”
…so far.
Tuffcub
Indeed, not like that there’s much competition. Also that they specified “This generation” so as not to compete with Gran Turismo :)
Kennykazey
It’s about on par with the amount of Premium cars in GT6. And there’ll be fewer GTRs.
I hate the mixed quality in GT.

Oh burn!
Tomhlord
The thing with the nixed quality is that if all the poo ones are removed, there will he even more complaints. Rock, hard place.

Come on Gran Turismo 7 announcement at E3!
Starman
GT6HD I’d put money on it. Quicker & cheaper than GT7.
Avenger
No, I highly doubt PD shitting about with a GT6 remaster. They’re supporting the game on PS3, as well as currently developing GT7. The one good thing for them is that they have never got caught up in the industry, always doing they’re own thing and focusing on the next vision. I’d be surprised if that changed.
Jag
I actually reckon the next one will just be called Gran Turismo and be a platform they constantly build on.
It can include everything from GT6 as a base as the tracks and premium cars will hold up with a little extra effort.
Kennykazey
GT7 Prolouge.

Can’t see a remastered franchise racing game. But prologue seems possible.

3D Puddles? Seriously?!? Is that just a way of saying “we don’t have anything else worth talking about”
Kennykazey
Hydroplaining dude. It’s probably better than just a set percentage of reduced grip throughout.
beeje13
Well it got me interested. Forza has never had wet weather before has it? 3d puddles show that the weather isn’t just a quick rush job, and as KennyK hints at, 3D puddles are probably needed to properly calculate the physics of friction (grip).
Is gonna be good.
Tomhlord
450 cars is impressive. “Most cars of this generation” is the usual Forza/Microsoft hyperbowl and in this case, actually downplays their achievement seen as this generation is just getting started!
beeje13
450 cars seems great, are they all included with the game? Or sold in several car packs like the Forza 5 farce.
And I have no reason for why it says 50Hz, it’s not like Japanese tv is even at that standard. It is possible to lock&vsync through hdmi though if it is true.
Kennykazey
We are led to belive the 450+ cars are at launch. Although I’d expect about ten to be various pre-order offers. Horizon 2 had five “Day-one” cars and four or five “pre-order” ones.
I expect the total amount to pass 500 before Forza 7 if it follow a similar DLC tactic as FH2 with montly updates.
Motorsport 5 has a total amount of 218. Horizon 2 released with 210 and has a total (still unfinished) amount of probably about 250.
Keep in mind there’s almost no “clone” cars in Forza 5 and Horizon 2, so the lineup is pretty stellar. At least I think so, coming from GT5 and 6. (As do a couple of my GT-fan friends)
I just hope the number of tracks has been boosted in a similar fashion.
Avenger
People keep mentioning or hinting at the ‘cloned’ cars of Gran Turismo, but I don’t think people realise that those clones are different localisations of car models as well as the variations in versions/editions etc, so not simply blind clones. Not to mention the fact that minus the multiple versions of cars, GT6 to date still has around 900 – 1000 unique cars.
I’m not bothered about these numbers so much, but it annoys me when GT games gets flak for these multiple version cars when it doesn’t really detract from the wealthy car selection. I’d also rather have the standard cars there, even in GT7, than not at all.
Kennykazey
I think of them as “clones” in a similar way to a fighting game. They’re not an entirely bad thing, but can often be too similar to seem necessary.
And we’ll just have to agree to disagree on standard cars. I understand the appeal of a larger lineup, but I prefer consistency in detail and quality. There are cars in GT6 that are made up of as many polygons as others headlamps. It can be a serious immersion-breaker for me. That Cadillac concept comes to mind.
