Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Launch Trailer Directed By Hideo Kojima Is Here

The launch trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has been released, and this has been directed by Hideo Kojima. The trailer itself is five minutes long and is quite nostalgic, looking back at the previous Metal Gear Solid games. Of course there is also footage of The Phantom Pain with quite a big unit making its presence known in some obvious and overt ways. Just look at that gun placement.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has received a lot of critical acclaim, and while our review is still in progress you can read Stefan’s impressions so far in the Road To Review for the game. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain releases September 1st for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.

  1. Bloody hell, I’m completely at a loss as to what to make of that! I wondered whether the story would track back to the MSX Metal Gear or just go completely mental, I guess this trailer answers that one. All I can say is have at you, you colossal stomping knob-squat!

  2. That Metal Gear has a penis. I mean, come on, just look at how large the gun is! Also, did Kojima forget about the purpose of Metal Gear being a walking nuclear platform as Omega looks like it could take on everything and win. I mean, i know Metal Gears are supposed to be powerful but Omega outclasses everything!

Sadly, this will be the last piece of MGS related work from Kojima as he and his team get sacked on the same day as this is out. :(

Preorded it today though. I wonder if Kojima had that gun placed there as a minor eff you to Konami or well, Kojima being Kojima. I mean, we have a sniper that wears nothing but a thong(not that i’m complaining as Cosplayers are…. i mean, i’m not complaining) but that penis gun, i mean, seriously? Either it’s a railgun, which shouldn’t exist or Zero is overcompensating. He must have seen zeke and went “You call that a weapon? THIS IS A WEAPON!”
