Something for the Weekend – 26/10/19

The Rugby World Cup has reached the semi-finals, with England taking on New Zealand as I write this, and Wales facing South Africa tomorrow. It’s all getting a bit tense, so you’ll have to excuse any spelling mistakes in this post!

Anyway, let’s start our recap of the week…

This Week’s Features

While it was a bit quiet for the reviews, it certainly wasn’t the same for the previews, with Stefan kicking off the week with a look at BattleTech: Heavy Metal, which adds eight new mechs to do battle with.

Moving onto games for strategy fans, he got a first look at Crusader Kings III, and then switched medieval Europe for the sequel to Mars, Surviving the Aftermath.

Elsewhere, Jim looked at RAN: Lost Islands, a battle-royale featuring a “fictional showdown between the Ming Dynasty, Japanese Shogunate, and European Empire”, as Dom looked at the classic beat ’em up, Streets of Rage 4.

Last up, Stefan returned with a visit to Age of Wonders: Planetfall’s first expansion, Revelations, as What We Played featured Death Stranding, Luigi’s Mansion 3 & The Outer Worlds.

As always, we rounded out the week with What We Played, featuring Death Stranding, Granblue Fantasy and Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

Your Achievements

It looks like it was a quiet week for the community:

  • MrYd finished of God of War, but was more impressed by Hitman 2. In the sales, he picked up the enjoyable Little Nightmares, before he returned to his staple diet of Firewall, Honor & Duty, and PvZ.
  • TSBonyman is finding Bioshock Infinite a bit tiresome, although the DLC has spieced it up a bit, and was disappointed to find his local retailer was sold out for The Outer Worlds!

The Week Ahead

As November draws near, here’s some of the highlights of the coming out this week:

  • Close to the Sun – PS4, XBO, Switch – 29/10
  • Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King – PS4, XBO, Switch, PC – 29/10
  • Vampyr – Switch – 29/10
  • Earthfall: Alien Horde – Switch – 29/10
  • Devil May Cry 2 – Switch – 29/10
  • Resident Evil 5 & 6 – Switch – 29/10
  • Yakuza 4 Remastered – PS4 – 29/10
  • Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD – PS4, XBO, Switch – 29/10
  • Luigi’s Mansion 3 – Switch – 31/10

That’s it for this week, I’ll see you again soon!

  1. The Outer Worlds arrived for me this morning – looking forward to getting stuck in after work!

  2. I’ve been after GAME’s PS4 Pro COD deal, but it seems every store in London has sold out of consoles! :/
