Monster Hunter Rise’s free Kamura Pack is now available to download

Just last week, Capcom had announced that its latest release Monster Hunter Rise had passed 4 million units shipped. Now, the publisher has announced another milestone as Monster Hunter Rise has passed the 5 million units shipped mark. The game is expected to continue to help the surge of popularity the Monster Hunter series has met in recent years, with total franchise sales now exceeding 70 million sales since the first game released in 2004.

To celebrate the sales milestone Capcom have released the “Kamura Pack 1: Big Hit Celebration” free dlc pack which gives you 30 Mega Potions, 20 Well-done Steaks, 10 Large Barrel Bombs, 5 Mega Demondrugs and 5 Mega Armorskins.

Monster Hunter Rise is already hitting similar early numbers to Monster Hunter World, which also hit 5 million units shipped at launch though that was spread across PS4 and Xbox One. Monster Hunter Rise is a Nintendo Switch exclusive. The game has proved highly popular in Japan with physical units selling out in the country at launch. Japanese VR company, Mark-On Ltd, gave employees the day off on Friday, fearing they would be too distracted to work.

In our review, we scored this latest entry in the series a whopping 9/10:

Monster Hunter Rise is an incredible game. While it may not feel quite as ground-breaking for the series as World did, it boasts a stronger and distinctly Japanese identity, and the changes and streamlined gameplay simply focus on the franchise’s true stars – the monsters. Rise is easily one of the best games for the Nintendo Switch, and one of the finest Monster Hunters ever.
