Today’s the first anniversary of the Nintendo Switch’s launch, and a year in which Nintendo have experienced a resurgence that mirrors, if not outright exceeds the success of the Wii. It’s been incredible, and something that’s great to see, adding another contender and something pleasingly different to the console race.
Here’s to another year of blistering, record setting sales and masterfully crafted exclusives.

This Week’s Features
The biggest preview of the week had me travelling to Paris to play a big chunk of the start of Far Cry 5. Is this the game to really rejuvenate the series? I think so.
Jake went to play Scribblenauts Showdown, finding a crafty party game that mixes in the nonsensical amusement that the game’s huge dictionary of items leads to, while Dave teamed up with myself and Dom to play the closed test of Vermintide 2 last weekend. The game’s out next week on PC, and he likes what he’s seen so far.
I then returned with a good look at the disco/trance/neon infused puzzle platforming of Octahedron, as well as getting stuck into the familiar feeling SoulCalibur VI. Finally for me, it was a spot of tennis in Tennis World Tour, which has more than a few interesting ideas on how to make a fun and compelling tennis game.
Finally, What We Played features Vermintide 2, Alto’s Adventure and Metal Gear Survive.
