Sony have revealed that PlayStation Home now has over 10 million users – that means over 20 million pieces of ‘chicken skin’ covering over 20 million elbows!
The news was accompanied by the announcement of 3 new themed spaces: Uncharted 2, Ratchet & Clank and Motorstorm, and Sony don’t want it to stop there.
For developers, there’s no better way of driving interest in their titles than giving fans a hands-on, interactive experience based around the game itself. A game space in PlayStation Home ought to be a core element of every studio’s marketing strategy for new titles.
Home does seem to be evolving a lot as of late so you can expect many more spaces cropping up in the near future. Yesterday saw the opening of the first ever space to incorporate a purchaseable MMO game – Sodium One.
From a personal point of view, I have never been in Home except for 2 minutes when it launched. I’m hoping for a gory God of War 3 Home space…that could entice me back. How about you, do you use Home?

Went on to try and find the Gravity Crash maze, couldn’t find it.
I’m now taking a break from Home for another few months.

It really shows something when you can take a break from something for months on end after using it for five minutes.

I take it you used the World Map (press Start, down one mention option and then top of the list it you didn’t) it has a PSN logo and is under the PS Home tile.
One the subject of the Gravity Crash Maze, I got the same feeling playing it as I did playing the Rez demo for the first time even though they have nothing in common except the distinctive graphical styles. You know how they said Rez induced synesthesia, well all that running and turning with the 80s style music was very close.

Oh God, I remember playing the Rez demo, I didn’t have a clue what was going on.

I want to use it more but when i have time to get on the PS3 i don’t want to wander around looking at people dancing and waiting for stuff to load only to have to wait to get on anything or see it.
Some of the new spaces and content show the direction of home for the future i think, exclusive gigs and mini games for big releases.

I think this should have its name changed to ‘10 Million people have Home’. No one i know uses it.

Same as you Gasto, a quick 2 minute visit at launch and have never been back. I never notice anyone my friends list in Home either, more of them seem to use Life with Playstation when not gaming. May give it another go soon though.

Probably means that of the 30 mill PS3 owners, there are 10 mill remaining that haven’t deleted it from their hard drives yet.

home is the shell of what phil showed us, they cut out its heart, filled it full of tshirts and then chopped up its rotting carcass, and europe got the arse.

that sodium one game is fun, should give that a try, you might not play it for long but it’s a fun little game, and you get your own personal space for free when you enter.

Errmmm… I’m there on a daily basis *blush*, but to be fair, I’ve made some great friends on there, some of whom I’ve since met in real life! Then again, I met a Portuguese player on Burnout Paradise and my wife and I ended up getting a free week in the Algarve… SWEET!!!

I use it. I collect all the free items from promotions and game spaces. It not exceptional but the stuff is pretty good. I doubt I will ever spend money in home tho.

Haven’t ‘visited’ Home for ages.
I hear of a new space and think that could be worth a visit the next time I turn the on the PS3. But when I switch it on I get stuck into a game and forget about Home.
