Extra, Extra!
Heavy Rain is packed with bonus goodies. Designed to encourage repeated play, you’ll unlock extras as you complete each scene multiple ways, and although the game doesn’t tell you which goodies you’ve unlocked there’s a menu option on the main screen that lets you sift through them all. Bonuses include concept art (it’s beautiful) and ‘making of’ videos, both of which go some way to explain the massive undertaking.
There’s also the promise of DLC, because the menu has it’s own ‘shop’ button. Naturally, it’s empty just now but expect future episodes to pad out the main story and hopefully introduce some new characters to the game, or at least give some backstory to the ones we’ve already met but didn’t see again, like [the shopkeeper] or the deliciously evil but completely underused [motel receptionist].
