heavy rain - beyond the rain

It All Comes Together In The End

So, that’s Heavy Rain.  Yes, the review stated it was ‘good’ but is there potential for it to be ‘great’?  If Cage can fill in the gaps with some quality future content and iron out the bugs I’ll be happy to dive back into the plot and play it through again, sure.  As it stands, though, I liked Heavy Rain but the game’s ‘four character alive’ conclusion [such as it is] is more than enough for me personally just now.

Should you buy it?  Yes, almost certainly.  It might not fulfill all its promises but Heavy Rain’s arrival quite possibly marks the beginning of the way games are delivered and is a very clear turning point for Interactive Fiction.  It’s far from the perfect game, but as an experience Heavy Rain really does deserve to have its moment.  If you liked the demo, chances are you’ll enjoy the whole thing.

Just be thankful the Origami Killer is still unknown, after all the reviews…
