One of the big positives regarding Sony’s PlayStation Move device over rival Microsoft’s Kinect technology is how existing franchises can be, relatively quickly and with limited pain, fitted to work with their new motion controller.
Whether or not people will actually play the likes of SOCOM 4 and Killzone 3 with the device remains to be seen, of course, but if you’re looking for an idea of what it’s really like to slaughter Helghast by simply pointing at them, look no further than this demonstration video.
Luckily the footage stars Guerrilla Games’ Senior Producer Steven Ter Heide, a man we’re sure knows a thing or two about stomping around Helghan with a glowing ball … thingy. We’re thinking the rest of us might need some time getting to grips with the new method.
Probably dying wantonly in the process as we do.

Pretty consistant lag though, hope they can tighten it up. Think i’ll probably use a navi to control the screen. Moving to the edgees like that would drive me bonkers.

The lag you’re seeing is because of the camera in the video. They’ve said the latency of the controller is 22ms while the dual-shock 3’s latency is 16ms. I don’t think 6ms is that big of a difference for you to notice it when playing, unless you’re looking for a delay. That’s also assuming your tv doesn’t isn’t adding ton latency already.

The lowest latencies a video game can have is 50ms (three frames) – the PS3 XMB runs at this rate,
Most 60FPS games have a 66.67ms latency – Burnout Paradise, for example.
30FPS games have a minimum potential lag of 100ms, but many exceed this.
Different games have different lag
Killzone 2 was around 150-166ms, only a part of that was the controller the rest is made of processing time, the framerate etc.
The XMB on the PS3 has the least lag of anything and that has been measured to be about 50ms from pressing the controller to the XMB reacting to the button press (the screen has been taken into account)
The difference between a DS3 & a Move Stick will be so slight no one will notice – the game will have far more lag built into it than any controller

Yeah, I forgot to mention the latency of the game itself will come into play.

Argh… through the eyes.

Killzone is just fucking amazing….
That will be such an awesome way to play the game alongside the DS3.

Proof that at least the Move can be played while sitting down, and that you don’t need to be at least 15′ away from the screen!
Seriously, the game looks better and better with each video released. Not sure I’d feel comfortable using the move like that, but will have to see. I will probably end up getting the Move gun attachment just for this game.

Love how it works good with ‘normal’ games
