[drop2]Today’s Wednesday PSN Store update sees the release of Handcircus’ Okabu, a delightful looking cute-em-up (trailer here) from the guys behind early iPhone smash hit Rolando.

It certainly looks the part, but this wouldn’t be a Wednesday without a massive pile of other stuff landing at the same time, so the full list is, as usual, below for your digestion.

Look out for a demo of EA’s Need For Speed: The Run, too, we liked the idea of the game back in our early preview/interview and Kris’ hands on was really encouraging.

“I’m certainly going to be watching The Run,” he said, “and it’s a long time since I’ve said that about any racing title. Possibly the biggest compliment I can pay it is that it left me in need of more. Will I buy it? I don’t know yet. But do I want to see more? Oh yes.”

The Gran Turismo 5 DLC was released yesterday, too – although you might want to consider making sure you buy it on the right account.

  1. Ooohhh Need for Speed: The Run demo yep sorted ^^
    I will get Deus Ex – The Missing Link DLC around Christmas.

    • I know a lot of people didn’t like the demo but i thought it was pretty good :) Action packed arcade racing = fun.

      • Is it me or do the cars make sci-fi like noises or could be just the music.

    • I found the run decent enough, but pretty much same old, same old to be honest – Looked like NFS, played like NFS, tasted like chicken (because everything does).

      • Agreed, same old, same old….I do like these games but it’ll be a bargain binner again for me. It feels a bit like they’re filling time between the big one gets released, whatever that might be!

      • Yeah, maybe – Well, Shift 2 was this year right, so maybe Hot Pursuit 2?

    • I cud not find Need for Speed – The Run OR Sonic Generations Game demo either how come?

  2. Hmm weak mid month treat for psn+ :(

    • Thing is PS+ was never advertised with mid-month treats, so at least we have some.

      • True, but when the US get three extra free games over the month (Dead Nation, Burn Zombie Burn and Elemental Monster opver the last two weeks) while we get one game for two weeks (which will now presumably expire as being free), it’s a bit of a kick in the proverbials.

        Also, I’m confused about the lack of Payday…

      • I was under the impression we got mid month treats too, must have been some clever wording in the marketing garb.

  5. I haven’t accessed the store for what seems like ages. Wont be doing it this week either.

    • I always have a little look & check out some preview vids (for those games that have them), but i can’t say i’ve laid down any investments in a loong time.

      • Same for me, I used to buy a lot of PSN games, yet in the last 6 months or so there hasn’t seemed to be anything interesting.

  7. What no Payday: The Heist! Come on the Americans got it yesterday, When the hell is it gunna come out!

    • According to the PlayStation Blog it launches “in October” so I assume it has been pushed back into next week’s update. However the US demo is now available, weighing it at 2.5GB. It’s a little rough around the edged but fun nonetheless.

  8. Any idea when DC Universe Online is going free-to-play? The PS Blog said some time in October but I can’t find any more information.

  9. No payday is a pain, seems as I bought all the play games.

    The real kick in the teeth is the lack of dungeon defenders, My brother has bought this on steam and its got crossplatform play, I was hoping to give this a blast this weekend.

    Our update sucks big time in comparisson to the monster one that the US got.
