MotorStorm UK Release Delayed

It was reported yesterday that a possible delay to the UK release of MotorStorm Apocalypse was being considered. Sony has now confirmed that a delay is indeed happening:

“Although we have shipped the game into the channel last week, given that we are able to do so, we have chosen to postpone the launch in the UK. In the meantime we will continue to monitor the situation very closely.

We are shocked and saddened to see the impact of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan and our thoughts are with all those affected, including our colleagues within the Sony family, living and working throughout Japan.

We are very conscious of the parallels between these events and the underlying theme in MotorStorm and are doing everything we can to be as sensitive as possible to the situation. Although the game itself is already in distribution, we are ceasing any further shipments and removing as much of the marketing materials as possible.”

We will keep you updated as and when more information appears.

  1. Just a heads up to anyone who has preordered through GAME.co.uk.

Money was taken this morning but the order was cancelled. It was not a card problem – so it looks like they are just straight up cancelling them.

    I’ve had to re-preorder

    • They should have given you a refund then. i don’t know what act it falls under but they have stolen money off you.

  2. Neatsy da beatsy wants ta eatsy

  3. A very senisble decision. Since the content of the game can be compared to real life, they would come under a lot of fire. It shows that they care about their counterparts in Japan and they don’t want to offend them. For those who say that FPS’s get away with wars, The solider chose to join and knew the risk. A natraul disater doesn’t let anyone chose. I wish Japan a speedy recovery and i am sorry for all their losses.

  4. completely understandable.
