Vodafone Delays Xperia Play UK Launch

Following hot on the heels of O2’s Xperia Play delay, Vodafone have sent out a customer notice confirming that the handset won’t be launching on the previously mentioned date of April 1st. No reason was given, and the customer notice reads as follows:

“Sony Ericsson have advised us that they will not be able to supply the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play to meet the original launch date of 1 April. Unfortunately, this means there will be a small delay to your order.

We are working closely with Sony Ericsson to ensure your phone is delivered as soon as possible and we will be in touch again with specific timescales when we know more. We appreciate this is disappointing and are doing our very best to resolve this as quickly as possible.”

Hardly the flying start that SE would have hoped for.

  3. Saves all those April Fools jokes I guess.

  4. Sony really know how to launch a new product don’t they? This xperia play stinks of average or even less than that! Shame because the idea is good, seems the implementation is poor though.

  5. Still don’t know about this, really like the idea but not hearing the best reviews about it.
