You’ll be glad to know I’ve been promoted from being the Community Team’s tea boy, and will be taking over these community round-ups from Teflon (who did a brilliant job), although that hasn’t stopped the guys yelling “milk, two sugars!” at me throughout the day. Don’t you worry, I’ll be getting my own back though when they realise I’ve been slipping laxatives in, and using digestives that are 3 years old!
Anyway, for those of you that haven’t seen these community round-ups before, it simply aims to highlight some of the many on-going community based features, articles, Meets and competitions that happen here at TSA, as well as a quick peek into the Forums.

Firstly, this week saw the results of the quarter finals of the Dirt 3 Tournament. I must warn you though, Jambo (with the help of Teflon) decided to do the race report in the form of limericks, and well, they are dreadful to say at the least!
Aside from the truly terrible limericks, all the competitors should be congratulated on what they have achieved, and it’s certainly going to be a close-fought semi-final, with Maneorix racing Manorhowze, and Spooferbarnabas battling it out against CarBoyCam. All four of those competitors have already secured themselves a gorgeous DiRT3 mug, but soon we’ll reveal the two other randomly selected entrants who will also receive one of those hot or cold beverage carrying contraptions.
We’ve also got the chance for you to win one of five codes for the brilliant game, Pocket Halfpipe for iPhone/iPad, and it’s really simple to enter. Just drop a comment under the article with the funniest skating trick you can come up with, including the name of the trick and brief description. This competition is open to everyone, so there’s no excuse not to enter. The full rules and other bits of important information are in the post, so make sure you read it carefully before the 6PM deadline tomorrow night.

Taking a look at some of the Meets on TSA this week, we’ve got plenty of action going on!
Death_In_Flamez is hosting the second “The Whatever’s On Beta Meet” again featuring the Resistance 3 beta, although cunningly disguised as an Everybody’s Golf Meet. It’s happening tonight at 6pm, so head on over and get your name down for some Chimera butt kicking!
Sunday will see the regular DiRT 3 and SARPBC meets, with the SARPBC meet being disguised as Assassins Creed, taking place later afternoon and in the evening respectively.
On Monday, the aptly named ‘Monday Motorstorm madness’ meet takes place, but it’s filling up fast so you better get your name down quick! Jambo is also hosting a Gran Turismo 5 meet at 8:30pm, see the forum link if you want to suggest what rules, tracks and cars you want to race on, although that’s another meet that is looking to be quite popular among TSA’ers so you need to be quick with getting your name down for it.
Remember to visit the Meets page to check out the other meets for this week, and you can use the filter tool in order to check on a specific game. You should even feel free to host your own meet, provided you have at least 250 TSA points.

Dan was lucky enough to meet Jon Paquette and Cameron Christian from Insomniac Games, and grill them about the upcoming title, Resistance 3. It’s a great little interview, and it’s definitely worth a read; even if Resistance 3 doesn’t sound like your type of game you might just find yourself wishing the 9th of September would kindly hurry itself up! Read all about it here.
Thankfully, Dan only got hands on with Supremacy MMA after he did the interview with the Insomniac guys, otherwise it may have turned out a little differently than it did! You can read all about his experience with it here, which gives a good insight into how the Story Mode will work, something which you wouldn’t think would go hand-in-hand with a game of this genre, but if Dan was left feeling impressed, it’s a game that shouldn’t be ignored.
If you missed the verdict of last week’s WeView game, Super Meat Boy, make sure you catch up on it, and discover the unanimous verdict that it was given. This week, WeView has Flower as its target, it may have been given a 10/10 by TSA, but what do you think of it? Let us know in the forum.
Lastly, Greg is asking for what you would do to fine-tune Killzone 3 in this week’s Tweak It. Killzone 2 was a big favourite here at TSA, and it’s successor doesn’t seem to get the same love for it, so make sure you put down your thoughts and suggestions for how you would tweak it, and what changes you would hypothetically make for Killzone 4.

And now to the Forums, where this week has seen some great threads being created. We’ll start off in Gaming Banter:
- Pritchie is asking what people think of HD remakes in the form of a poll, and has lead to some discussion over which games are worth a HD remake, with the GTA series getting lots of love.
- Colmshan is curious about what the best name for a trophy or achievement you’ve come across in a game is.
- And lastly I thought it was interesting to read Darth Newdar’s thoughts about violence in video games, something which I thought made me stop and think about different people’s perspectives and their reasoning behind it.
Diving into the depths of the General Chat* forum, we’ve got some great threads:
- Fillip wants to know what your favourite rainy or lazy day games are, although I’m not quite sure how he came up with this topic… something about fantasising about Raiden from MGS2 while in the gym… I’ll leave it at that I think!
- Death_In_Flamez has started what he calls, “The conclusions game”, which seems fairly simple story-creation game. Knowing what TSA is like, I’m sure will turn out to be a crazy and immature gripping and thought-provoking story!
- There’s also a thread for those that received GCSE results, and I’d also like to give my personal congratulations to all of them, although it looks like Spoofer has some competition from Mathematicool for being TSA’s brainbox!
- As I said at the beginning, I’ve been promoted in the Community Team and so we’re looking for someone new to fill the “massive void left behind by the dedicated and hard working chap” that is me.** If you wish to volunteer, look no further as you can apply here. You need to be enthusiastic, and have a passion for the community but most importantly a good tea maker; Adam gets very moody if he doesn’t get his morning cuppa right away!
That’s all for this week, I hope you will be joining me next week, and feel free to leave any comments about what you would or wouldn’t like to see in these Community Round-ups.
*The General Chat forums are un-moderated, and may contain swearing and also contain traces of celery.
**Quote from Adam, right from the horse’s mouth. Honest!

cam the man
Won’t be able to make the Dirt3 meet on Sunday but anyone thinking about joining should as it’s great fun.
Manorhowze
Shame you cant make it on Sunday cam.
Theres one space left if anyone else wants to join and if we get more than that we usually split into two lobbies.
teflon
You know how I sometimes don’t sign up to stuff anymore? I just signed up to this.
Dibs!
cam the man
I was looking forward to it but I’ve just got time to watch the F1 race then got to shoot off. I hope there’s no delays due to weather etc.
The Lone Steven
I make excellent Teas.:D But i have heard that Adam treats the tea boys like crap. I heard one time, he shoved a hot cup of tea up their bottom because they forgot to add sugar.
It could be worse, the GC forum could contain traces of Pepsi. Also the Red Dead Meets may make a comeback as Rainydays has finally got a new PS3.
gazzagb
Now you’ve mentioned it, I feel like playing some RDR. Nothing like doing a bit of bear hunting!
Sympozium
