Hello, how is everyone today? I hope you’re all okay. I just wanted to let you know that yesterday I spent a sizeable portion of the day struggling with the fact that I didn’t yet have my grubby little hands on a copy of Uncharted 3. I sat there, working at my computer, seething with rage that I wasn’t playing the latest in the Uncharted saga yet. It was threatening to consume my very being. So I nipped out and bought a copy. Problem solved.
But while I was planning my little excursion to buy the latest PlayStation 3 blockbuster, I spared a thought for all those of you who, for whatever reason, don’t yet have the game. So when I finally made it to the shop, I bought two. Now I’m going to give one away to one of you lucky little blighters. Because that’s how we roll here at TSA. Except Kris, he’s a right stingy old beggar *.
Let’s keep it nice and simple though, shall we? Why don’t you tell us about your most treasured possession in the comments below and at 17:00 GMT today, we’ll have a poke around the comments and pick the one we like best. The author of that comment will receive a copy of the game in the post just as soon as we can get their address from them and the postal service can find their house.
Our usual T&Cs apply, as ever, and our decision is final so no grumpy faces if you don’t win, okay? Oh, and have a read of our review, it took Alex about a month. And that’s just the sandy background.
* This is not actually true. Kris has, in the past, sent me cookies in the mail and given me awesome robot socks.
Update: Sorry folks, it took me ages to read through all of the entries! I’ve picked a winner now though, because of the sentiment and also the extra little attention to (peculiar) detail, hannes_truce is the winner of UC3. However, because I bought the games in Sainsbury’s, I also got two £25 PSN vouchers and stories from grimm and adamguest1985 resonated with me and with Uncharted 3 so I’ll send each of them a £25 code in their emails too.
Right, now bugger off and click some ads or something, I’m skint!

mine would have to be the trophy i won in a quiz at a star trek convention years ago.
it’s not the most valuable thing i own, far from it, but it means a lot to me because it’s like i earned it.
i’ve won more valuable prizes but not for my knowledge or skill.
actually i’ve yet to win anything for my skill, but one day.
alternatively i’ll say the new copy of uncharted 3 i won as a prize from the lovely, and incredibly attractive, Peter at TSA. ^_^
worth a shot right?

Do tell us more of this Quiz.

My copy of The Lord of the Ring Trilogy (proper book, not a DVD) which I’ve owned since I was 12, so it’s now 28 years old. I’ve read it many times so it’s looking a bit tatty, but now my son is starting to get in the world of Tolkien, so hopefully it will become a family heirloom.
F022Y
Going to have to say that mine would be an engraved zippo lighter that i got from my GF for our first xmas together. Mind you i don’t dare use it.
The Mysterious Phantom Bear
My prized possession is my genitalia.
Without it life would become incredibly dull and bathroom visits would be problematic and less focused.
They also produce the testosterone I require to look like a Grizzly Bear.
Would however swap them for Uncharted 3. Do you have a classifieds section here?

My most treasured possession would have to be my virginity. I’ve kept it in such pristine condition for so many years.*

Maybe it sound very stock or odd to you but if we are talking about a “thing” with a meaningful background I guess it`s a little blue hand-made amulet (it`s actually made out of paper, so it has no value for sale or so). As I was 9 my family moved from Moscow, Russia to Hamburg, Germany where I`m hanging around and studying right now. (more hanging around than studying) I couldn’t say a word in German but went to school here. In elementary school we had this Indians-game with costumes, tents, bows and all that stuff little boys do like, he? :) Indians are supposed to have cool names in such a game like the “fearless tiger” (I guess an Indian has never seen one but who cares) or “wiser eagle” or whatever. And we tinkered this little amulets for each other with a picture and our name on it. As I could only say a few words and nobody from the class really knew me, my teacher made this one for me.
She wrote “dead water” on it (does not sound so creepy in German, we say “silent water”). This little piece of paper remind me about how important it is to speak a language. By learning English afterword I gained so many new friends and people I can talk to. Of course my German is fluent for years and I still can talk to people in Russian. A language gives you the opportunity to communicate with people and what the hell would live be without this? So if we take it that way it`s this little thing here: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/824/dsc0020kz.jpg/
If we take a bigger scope: People I do see nearly every day for the last 10 years and without all those I couldn`t imagine to spend a longer period of time.

That’s actually really cool :)

Most treasured possession? I’d have to say my wedding ring and my penknife. Either can be replaced, but their sentimentality value is beyond measure. I don’t plan on ever needing to marry someone else, and to lose the original ring would be really painful. The penknife was passed down from my granddad and was very much a part of who he was. Both go everywhere with me and a new copy of either just wouldn’t be the same.

I think it’d have to be my time. You only get it once and you never know when it’s going to run out and you can’t buy any extra.

surely sleeping counts like injury time at a football match? :P
