First Direct Feed DriveClub Gameplay Footage

Here’s the first DriveClub gameplay footage that isn’t recorded with off-screen with a camera, instead the creators of the video – GameShit (how lovely) – using a direct feed to capture the footage.

I still don’t understand why anyone enjoys limiting the majority of their screen for a realistic experience with cockpit view, but it’s looking quite good nonetheless.

Sony recently detailed the differences with the PlayStation Plus edition of DriveClub, as well as the pre-order bonuses available.

It’s certainly more Forza than Gran Turismo, which is a really good thing; Sony already have GT6 releasing on PS3 this December. DriveClub will launch alongside the PS4 just several days before that, on November 29th.

  1. “It’s certainly more Forza than Gran Turismo, which is a really good thing”

I’m not so sure, if PS4 owners want a driving sim then they have nothing. DriveClub looks too arcade for it to be a sim in my opinion. And the other option being NFS Rivals… Enough said.

  2. Looks good to me, especially since Gran Turismo has no soul anymore, so I’ll probably skip GT6. That said, I’ll probably just play the free version as I don’t play many racing games these days.

  3. How’s it looking visually? Can’t watch the vid at work and for some reason the clip is mega compressed on my phone.

    • As in, has it improved since the older footage?

    • To be honest, the clip looks ‘mega compressed’ while watching on desktop. Can’t really tell what it actually looks like.

  4. Good that Drive Club caters for all levels of skill as this guy looked better suited to rounding up trolleys at Tesco. :-)

Also, that capture/feed was awful quality. I was looking for detail and just couldn’t see any. It really didn’t look like the game’s fault either. Possibly shitty compression which then smudges the hell out of stuff. Boo!

    • That pretty much answers my above question. The vid is compressed and its not my phone.

  5. Does it actually have an out of car view?

    • Did you watch the video? ;-)

      • Ah, only watched the first minute first time. Assumed it was all on car as that’s all I’d seen in previous footage & the article says about the in car view. Looks better seeing the car.

      • That’s okay, Starman. Was thinking “surely you skipped it in” as there was the behind-the-car view which we’re all familiar with. I’m guessing there’s a bumper/bonnet cam too or would at least hope so.

        :-)

    • lol, watch the video sir.

    • I think he means the camera on the bumper view type thing

  6. I watched a HD clip only yesterday and it looked absolutely fantastic. Definitely an arcade racer, that’s for sure. The cockpit cam looked like the best view to play the game through.

  7. Ahahahaha Tyreler Durdan :)

  8. Hard to tell whether the graphics are good because the video is badly done. Looks quite arcadey and nothing like GT. Not sure thats a good thing really.

    • If it’s nothing like GT, I’ll probably like it.

      • Agreed the further away from GT the better for me.

  9. On a racing theme, can’t believe there’s been no Ridge Racer announced for next gen systems. Every new console has a ridge racer at launch!

  10. Funny, when the ps3 was announced they said 1080p gaming.. yeah for ducks in a tub..

Now the only footage we see of the mighty (10 times better) ps4 is 720p.. hardly a step up..

    • Ha ha, I downloaded super rub a dub for my niece to play recently! Maybe they can wow us with super rub a dub 2 on ps4?!
