Let the speculation begin as amidst watching lots of Veronica Mars Stefan has been playing something that he can’t name and will only describe as “boaty-licious”. River Raid HD anyone?
Tuffcub meanwhile, in what’s mostly a repeat of last week, has been playing Candy Crush Saga, Killzone 3 and The Walking Dead: 400 Days. The absence of the “ANNOYING KID” in the latter is still a cause for celebration. Dishonored has proved to be “quite a disappointment” for him but not to the extent that Saints Row IV has been:
It looks TERRIBLE. Seriously nasty. Top tip for developers: If your game looks rough already, do not add stupid “digital scrolling” effects to the walls, I can hardly see what’s going on.
The first of our number to have been playing GTA V is Peter who’s been using it as an escape from fixing up his new house. “A few minor frame rate issues aside, I absolutely love it”, he tells me, “There’s loads to do, even after completing the story mode but my favourite thing is often to just drive around the city looking at things.”
DanToo’s take on GTA V is “it’s amazing”. On the flip side he has been suffering from motion sickness while playing it, but “after fiddling with a few settings” that’s been ameliorated enough for him to be able to enjoy playing.
Apparently some character called Trevor reminds him of Jack Nicholson’s turn as the Joker so he’s dressed him in a purple and green suit. Dan also reckons that GTA V is a very strong contender for his own personal game of the generation award.
Overwhelming was Aran’s first reaction to GTA V but having persevered he says that he’s “loving the world now and it’s a massive improvement over IV”. Killzone: Mercenary, “a brilliant bit of fun”, and Little King’s Story, “a fun title” have also been keeping him entertained although unsure of where to head next he’s “just grinding and finding treasure” in the second of those.
Blair’s initial GTA V experience “was quite cold and we had to wait for an hour”. Though to be fair that was just the midnight launch he attended. For his troubles he won an upgrade to the Special Edition which warmed his wee Scottish heart, bless him.
As for the game itself, it’s great although I’ve not had much of a chance to play it and when I have, all I’ve done is drive and fly around. I’ve completed several missions, all of which have been fun and I love the multi-protagonist mechanic; switching between them only to see them in the middle of something makes it feel like a real, persistent world.
Before his queue in the frigid north he finished playing through The Wind Waker HD to get his review completed. TL:DR, “I absolutely loved it, pure nostalgia and the upgraded features make it the best Zelda game yet.” Lastly, the “good fun” Angry Birds Star Wars II and its interactive figurines have ignited a hidden desire within him, “I love figurines.” Quite.
Any of you not played GTA V this week?

Nuclear Waste??? How did you discover the nuclear waste or am I not far enough through the game yet? I’ve done about a 3rd of the missions I think.
I’ll also be looking out for some BMX bandits.

That was a reply to Yiddo… supposed to be anyway.

This week I haven’t actually played anything :( Fired up my console a few times but have ended up just watching films rather than playing games. Need some new games I think but next gen is still a little way off!

As much as I have enjoyed the small amount of GTA V that I’ve played so far I’ve actually played more of Diablo 3 this week, I finished off my Hell mode play through and I’m currently halfway through my Inferno mode run. I’ve also hit level 60 paragon level 2 (almost 3).
I’ve also played the first few chapters of Puppeteer and my usual daily dose of Animal Crossing.

Update on Diablo … completed Inferno mode, I’m also now 90% of the way to paragon level 4.

GTA V. It’s alright so far.

I refuse to buy GTA V – at least until it’s back in stock. :/
In the meantime, i’m still ploughing through Diablo III but only when i can get a few hours to spare as the missions are quite long.
Also playing Puppeteer and it’s a delightful game, although it’s proving trickier than expected when it comes to not losing your head(s). The storybooks which you unlock are neat little bonuses too. I’m limiting myself to just a couple of levels each night because it’s just so damn gorgeous! :)

GTAV and loving it, even loving the effect when you press pause, how sad am I?
