Something For The Weekend – 11/11/17

With Lewis Hamilton having already secured the F1 Drivers World Championship, all the drivers can now throw caution to the wind for the final two races in Brazil and Abu Dhabi. Do you have any hot predictions for the end of this year’s season?

Miguel described Yomawari: Midnight Shadows as a “masterful horror game that tops anything else on the Vita, and rivals many other things on the PS4”, and overall calls it his “ideal horror game.”

This Week’s Features

Even before its release, Star Wars Battlefront 2 was in hot water for the way it locked character progression behind loot boxes. Fortunately, DICE have taken feedback on board and have made some changes from the beta, but have they gone far enough? Tef also spoke with the developers about how they see feedback going forwards and ask what’s going on with the chickens in the game?

Meanwhile, Aran looked at the other characters in Wolfenstein II’s Freedom Chronicles Episode Zero, and Tef also looked at Bravo Team, which is helping PSVR become the home to the VR FPS’s.

Although Jim said that COD: WWII was “the most fun I’ve had playing the series online since Black Ops”, there are some changes he’d like to see to the ‘Bronze Star’ system, which is not implemented nearly as well as Overwatch’s similar ‘Play of the Game’.

Finally, we have What We Played, which featured COD: WWII, Battlefront II, and Destiny 2.

  1. I believe media molecule tweeted a few days ago – looks like the standard PS4 version of Dreams will release first with the PSVR version to follow later on.

  2. Just been in a mega Tesco and they had Deus Ex, Fallout 4, Dishonoured 2 and something else I can’t remember for a fiver each. Thought I’d mention…

  3. Anyone come across the bum slap in the Horizon DLC? I don’t know what to make of it, am I being too prudish or PC or am I right to think it’s not quite right?

    • Looked more like her lower back to me.

Besides it was hardly a little tap on the bum, that was a full on whack!

Nothing wrong there imo, world is going crazy if there’s anything wrong with that.

      • Yeah I wondered about lower back, but then I thought why didn’t they just make it look like he slapped her on the upper back, so it was obvious? I’m getting too uptight and outragey in my old age… mid thirties :P

    • He also kept referring to her as ‘girl’. What a pig.

I’ve noticed that the male characters in this DLC are either extremely ignorant, hostile or idiots. Whereas the female characters are intelligent, creative and strong-willed. I’m all for female-empowerment in videogames but I think I’d prefer a more subtle approach in the future.

I wonder if it was made by the same team who worked on the original game or if they brought in some extreme feminist developers to mix things up? :D
