UK Charts 18/07/20: Ghost of Tsushima beats Paper Mario: The Origami King

It is a battle of exclusives in the charts this week with Sony’s Ghost of Tsushima going head to head with Nintendo’s Paper Mario: The Origami King and the samurai has won – and probably turned Mario in to a nice origami crane. Ghost of Tsushima outsold Mario by a factor of four and had sales that were 7% higher than the previous PS4 IP, Days Gone, but obviously did not come close to those of The Last of Us Part II which is still holding steady in the charts at number five.

Last week’s chart topper, F1 2020, slips to third place and with Animal Crossing: New Horizons at fourth which means we are in the relatively unique situation in which all the games in the top five were released this year. That said,  the rest of the top ten are all from last year, or in the case of Minecraft and Grand Theft Auto V, from the dawn of time.

Here is the GfK Top Ten for the week ending July 18th
