All eyes have been on Cologne this past week for Gamescom, with Dave and Stefan doing their best to get you the low-down on everything, though most of their reporting will have to wait until next week. Needless to say, this week’s edition of Something for the Weekend is fairly heavy on the news and trailers, so let’s get started!

This Week’s Features
Stefan kicked off the week with a visit to Montana in the big ol’ US of A in Far Cry 5, and also found 10 things to see or do there. Sticking with the theme of cultists, Dave checked out Death Of The Outsider, a standalone game in the Dishonored series being released later this year.
You may have read his review earlier, but Stefan also made a video highlighting the various changes that Codemasters have made in F1 2017 to make it the best F1 game we’ve seen in a number of years – perhaps you’d like to try your hand at taking one of the classic F1 cars around the Spa Francorchamps circuit this weekend?
Over at Gamescom, Tef tried his hand at Crackdown 3, and soon found why the game needed to be delayed. Although he found the demo disappointing, there’s potentially still time for Microsoft to turn it around. Another game full of explosions and shooting is Call of Duty: WW2, for which the beta starts this weekend. Tef has shared his initial thoughts on stepping onto the battelfield for the first time, in what’s one of the most anticipated shooters of the year.
For the last features of the week, Ade gave us all a history lesson on the setting of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, as Stefan stepped back into the 70’s to go hands on with Deadbeat Heroes.
Finally, What We Played featured The Escapists 2, Madden and like many of you, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
Trailer Park
There were so many trailers flying out of Cologne, Tuffcub had to chuck them all in one handy article to feast your eyes upon! Below are a few other highlights that came out this week:
The Destiny 2 Launch Trailer Has Landed
The First Teaser Trailer For Shenmue III Has Arrived
Middle-earth: Shadows Of War’s New Trailer Is All About The Monsters Of Mordor
The Cinematic Assassin’s Creed Origins Trailer Shows Death And Intrigue
Your Achievements
A number of you, including JR. (who actually wrote about the game at length!), Dan Jones and Pixel_nme have been getting stuck in with Uncharted: The Lost Legacy this week – any bets for who will be the first to grab the platinum?
Another game released this week that quite a few of you are enjoying is F1 2017 such as Pixel_nme , but Dan Jones might be regretting it a tad as he describes the online as being totally broken – hopefully Codemasters are working on it fast!
Elsewhere, Andrewww is finding Fallout 4 is starting to drag on a bit, as TSBonyman is ‘hammering’ away at Neon Chrome and Robinson: The Journey. MrYd meanwhile is “totally sold on the idea of PSVR now” after picking one up this week, and so far has dabbled in a bit of Bioshock, Farpoint, Polybius, DiRT Rally and a few other VR demos.
Other than that, it was a pretty quiet week with not one of you mentioning any trophy collecting – perhaps you’ve been saving it up for the Bank Holiday weekend?

Pixel_nme
Oh I doubt I’ll be in the running for the The Lost Legacy plat, though as usual I will probably try even though I will get so far through crushing and get annoyed at being constantly shot in the face, never had a Uncharted platinum sadly though I would’nt mind one :)

Although the current cars in F1 2017 are all new this year I’ve spent most of my time in the classic cars. I thought the earlier cars would be the most difficult to drive but it’s the FW18, MP4-13 and F2002 from the mid 90’s to early 00’s. Best F1 game for a very long time.
I played Everybody’s Golf beta a while ago and thought it was very good and well worth it if you’re into golf games.
MrYd
Still loving the VR. Do I buy some more things, or wait for whenever things are on sale?
And I’d better not mention the Littlstar app and the sideloading videos off a USB stick. Because to be honest, it’s kind of terrifying.
The amount of fiddling you have to do!
Yes, I’m on about the numerous different file formats, and software you need to use to change things so it thinks it’s using a codec it recognises. Or you can use the PS4 media player, which sort of works (for about half the videos you can throw at it – a different half to Littlstar, weirdly) but everything is about 500% bigger than it should be. Which is strange and terrifying.
Educational VR video has a long way to go yet. Or PSVR support needs improving. And when it works, it’s a bit weird.

I can totally recommend Hubble 3D for a bit of regular 3D viewing, I think it’s a tenner on Amazon. The file format thing sounds annoying, hardly worth the trouble just to watch some flesh wobble in your face… assuming that’s what LittleStar is for ;)
MrYd
No, it’s for watching videos of cute puppies. Obviously.
Anything else would cause me to leap back in surprise, crashing into furniture, to avoid things poking my eyes out.
Also, weirdly enormous porn would be wrong. Nobody wants 3 foot wide testicles swinging towards their face!
