The nights are drawing in, October is flying by, and we’ve seen some of the first big AAA releases of the season appear on shop shelves. It was a relatively quiet week for our gaming round-up, so perhaps this is just the calm before the storm…

Games in Review
Far Cry 6 launched last week, one of the biggest games that we’ll see coming out in the last part of this year. Does it live up to the standard set by previous games? We’ve now got a review with a score planted on the end of it.

Taking a look at our previews now, Reuben said that his preview copy of Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker was “a phenomenal taste of what’s to come” and that the game couldn’t come quicker.
Back 4 Blood was released earlier this week, and Stefan was on hand to share his first impressions of the game. Being the spiritual successor from Left 4 Dead, most people know what to expect, although there are a few twists to the formula.
Last up, he also had a look at Battlefield 2042’s Hazard Zone – a smaller, squad based game mode that’s akin to The Division’s Dark Zone and the indie hit Escape from Tarkov. It’s certainly a change of pace compared to the all-out craziness of Conquest and Breakthrough.
Rounding off the week as we always do, What We Played featured Scarlet Nexus, Far Cry 6 and Metroid Dread.

Your Achievements
Here’s what you in our community has been up to this week:
- MrYd got the hard-earned platinum in Watch Dogs: Legion, and also played Scarlet Nexus, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Quake 5, and The Pedestrian.
- On the other end of the spectrum, only one game kept willbuchanan occupied this week and that was Need for Speed Heat. He won’t get any gaming in next week as he’s off on holiday – enjoy!
- ron_mcphatty added the platinum for Control to his hoard, and now patiently waits for a sequel.
