Gran Turismo 5’s Intro Movie

With copies of Gran Turismo 5 now out in the wild and Sony still to announce a release date, it looks like enterprising Czech gamers are doing all their PR for them, creating one hell of a buzz around a game that’s currently getting more free press than your average tabloid-friendly ‘celebrity’.

And, thus, here’s the game’s intro video, courtesy (we assume) of the same group of lucky individuals that have provided most of the game’s juicy bits over the last twenty-four hours.  The video chronicles the creation of the car, starting slowly, and is probably worth saving until you’ve got the game yourself.

Still, it’s GT5, right?

In the meantime, instead of giving us a release date, the US Gran Turismo site has updated with lots of pictures of cars from the SEMA show.  Thanks guys, great stuff.

  1. I think Sony are going to announce the release date tomorrow to steal some of the thunder from the Kinect launch.

  2. the gameplay vids that were on gtplanet (now removed) have whet my appetite even more, just want an official release date now!

  3. Looks like Sony are finally clamping down on all the leaked footage on YouTube, most of the vids have been removed at their request.

  4. at least i dont have to watch it again, straight into game woohoo!, boring untill it shows racing. looking forward to getting this, although im looking forward to getting the wheel more! strange?

    • You won’t regret getting the wheel for GT5……….if it’s as good as with GTP then it’ll be excellent. :) (GT Force feedback wheel btw)

      • Same. I picked up a Driving Force GT and Wheel Stand Pro and it’s incredible. It totally changes the experience and makes it way more engaging. The feedback is amazing with every bump and corner giving subtle and realistic pulls and after a long race your arms genuinely feel like they’ve worked hard.

  5. Disappointing. It’s not perfect*kills self*.:P

  6. Have this preordered at HMV, purely based on the car bonuses they offered, only two, but still.

Gran Turismo, Black Ops and Red Dead Redemption for Game(s) of the Year!

  7. I’m not gonna watch this, I like sitting with a new game and a big mug of tea while I wait patiently for the (inevitable) patch, install and then intro before finally diving in.

  8. It seems like the second part would be the ‘real’ intro video.
Would be nice if they show an extra long version the first time while it’s installing?
