Now that 2022’s Summer Games Fest / “Not-E3” has come to a close, we have a chance to take a breather and look back. I think one thing that is abundantly clear is that the future of game library subscriptions Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra is incredibly bright, and while I don’t think I’ve bought the last game I’ll ever ‘buy’ just yet, I’m wondering if that point is not too far away?
Anyway, let’s get this round-up started!

But we had a healthy dose of previews, mostly thanks to Miguel bringing us 9 games to look forward to. He started with the “absolutely perfect” Street Fighter 6, and was similarly impressed by the improvements Bandai Namco have brought to JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle.
Sadly a game that looks unlikely to impress fans is Sonic Frontiers, which misses the mark and feels “unfinished and half-baked”. On a more positive note, Outriders Worldslayer looks set to bring back players with plenty of new endgame content, and digital escape room puzzler Escape Academy is the perfect game for some co-op shenanigans – just make sure you bring a pen and paper!
He closed with a round up of the games he enjoyed at Day of the Devs 2022, an indie celebration for hidden gems.
Meanwhile, Stefan looked at F1 22 and the new Pirelli Hot Laps offering which lets you explore tracks and challenges in supercars, as Jim went hands on with Midnight Fight Express – a one man brawler that could become the next big hit.
To finish all of that, What We Played featured Quarry, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak & Redout 2.
