Something For The Weekend Before Christmas – 22/12/18

Sixthmas greetings

It’s been a surprisingly busy week for video games, hasn’t it? Between the last few big releases, The Game Awards and a bunch of other miscellaneous news, it’s kept us bound to our keyboards, here at TSA Towers.

As with many parts of day to day life, we’re winding things down as we come up to Christmas and the New Year, but that’s almost made the past week even busier than usual! In addition to all the news, features and reviews, we’ve thrown Game of the Year and Ones to Watch post on top of that!

GOTY and OTW will carry on through to the new year – and this afternoon will see the Community GOTY open up for voting – so be sure to check in over the coming week as we lead up to the overall winner!

This Week’s Features

Outside fo the scored reviews, Thom took us back to the mystical oceans of Abzu, playing the recently release Nintendo Switch version of the game, while Alan opined that ’tis the season of the Switch, as families gather for Christmas.

Here’s the Game of the Year awards we handed out this week:

And looking to the future, Ones to Watch in 2019 highlighted these categories:

Rounding out the week, as usual, What We Played featured Red Dead Redemption 2, Destiny 2 and Kingdom Two Crowns.

Your Achievements

Heading into the penultimate weekend of the year, what have you all been playing?

  • Attempting to clear his backlog, MrYd finished off Far Cry 5 and made a good start on Far Cry 3 Remastered. He then delved back into Firewall to explore the new map.
  • Battlefield V is clicking for gernboes way more than Battlefield 1 did.
  • TSBonyman has been taking it nice and slow in The Forest and avoiding too many scary bits.
  • It’s mainly been Onrush for tactical20 who has found taht it’s rather fun. His other game this week was another PS+ freedie, SOMA.
  • And it’s been Red Dead Online for Crazy_Del, who’s hit rank 50 and got all the online trophies sorted. That platinum can’t be too far off for him!

If you want to be included in this section, make sure to comment on What We Played of a Friday evening.

The Week Ahead

Well, it’s Christmas, so there’s no game releases!

Enjoy the weekend, have a lovely Christmas and we’ll catch you for the next round up in 2019!

  1. A very merry Christmas to all TSA staff and community, going to be working right up to Christmas eve myself but looking forward to a few days of over-indulgence!
