Xbox Games Showcase: Extended stream will take place on Thursday 17th June with new developer interviews

Microsoft will be holding an ‘Xbox Games Showcase: Extended’ stream on Thursday 17th June at 6PM UK Time, following on from the Xbox & Bethesda showcase that took place yesterday evening. This showcase will expand on what was shown there with conversations with a number of Xbox Game Studios developers and partners.

The showcase will be hosted by Parris Lilly of Kinda Funny Xcast and Gamertag Radio, and it will feature interviews and conversations with Double Fine, Obsidian, Ninja Theory and Rare, in particular.

Curiously this could let the studios discuss games that weren’t featured at the main E3 2021 showcase. Double Fine will obviously focus on Psychonauts 2, which has been given an August release date, but it’s less obvious for the other studios. Obsidian’s input could primarily be for the significant Shroom & Doom Grounded update coming later this month or the new The Outer Worlds 2 announcement, or even Avowed which was not mentioned this year. Similarly, Rare might want to talk about Sea of Thieves and the Pirates of the Caribbean crossover, or could give us a glimpse of Everwild, and Ninja Theory have both Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II and Project Mara in development.

It will follow on from an Xbox & Bethesda showcase that was filled with big announcements. Starfield was confirmed as an Xbox and PC exclusive with a November 2022 release date, we saw Forza Horizon 5 revealed, snowboarding game Shredders, and so many games coming to Xbox Game Pass.

Catch up on the biggest headlines.
