Something for the Weekend – 31/08/19

Even with the shorter week thanks to the Bank Holiday, it’s been a busy week here at TSA Towers. We’ve got plenty of (high scoring!) reviews, as well as a shed load of previews from the latest games fresh out of Gamescom, so let’s get started!

In the News This Week

And with the pinching and punching of the 1st September tomorrow, here’s what to expect from PlayStation Plus and Games with Gold:

As I said, it was quite an impressive week for the reviews with plenty of high scores being dished out!

This Week’s Features

We had a great number of previews this week, all thanks to Stefan and his Gamescom trip.

He kicked off with a look at Shenmue III, but wasn’t overly impressed by the game as it currently feels more like a Dreamcast remaster than a modern day sequel. On a brighter note, he described Streets of Rage 4 as an ‘absolute blast’, and the right way to modernise a classic series.

Moving on, he called Fall Guys “a super cute video game version of Takeshi’s Castle”, and also said that Trine 4 was looking like a return to form for the series, and plays brilliantly on Switch.

Need for Speed Heat is shaping up to be the perfect game for the series’s 25th anniversary this year, as you can also see in the video below:

And for the last preview, Tef does a good job in doing what Square Enix have failed to do: explain to fans what Marvel’s Avengers is all about! He describes it as a cross between Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Destiny, while the storytelling aims to be on par with the Tomb Raider reboots. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

Last up, What We Played featured Control, Catherine: Full Body and Man of Medan.
